The School of Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton is currently inviting applications for a Research Fellow position. This role forms part of an innovative project led by Dr. Richard Meek, which focuses on understanding the role of protein machinery in brain calcification.
Project Overview
Funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC), the project utilizes a combination of mass spectrometry, microscopy, and cell-based assays to investigate how dysfunctional carbohydrate-processing contributes to neurological disorders.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in tissue culture and proteomics
- Strong skills in data collection, processing, and interpretation
- Possession or near completion of a PhD in biology, chemistry, or related fields
- Strong organizational abilities and proficiency in English
- Experience in neurobiology or glycobiology is advantageous but not essential

- Full-time role until October 31, 2028
