RMIT University in Melbourne is offering an exciting full-time position for a Research Assistant – Electronics Engineer for a duration of two years. Position Overview
The successful candidate will join the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and contribute to a project aimed at developing photonic chip building blocks for spectral broadening and wavelength conversion of optical frequency combs.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, fabricating, and testing nonlinear optical components.
- Characterizing frequency combs in the electronic domain.
Project Collaboration
This research project partners with the ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science (COMBS) and The University of Adelaide, with direct links to Australian Defence initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- PhD or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in designing and testing electronic systems related to photonics.
- Expertise in photonic integrated circuits, lithium niobate fabrication, and high-speed measurement instrumentation.
- Strong research output, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Australian citizenship trajectory is mandatory due to the involvement with defence projects.
