King’s College London is currently seeking applications for an exciting Research Scientist (Medical) role to join the EMBRACE study. This innovative global research project, involving 60,000 participants, aims to transform maternal and early childhood health through AI-powered personalized interventions.

The successful candidate will develop personalized Large Language Models (LLMs) designed to offer real-time health coaching, combining medical expertise with sophisticated AI techniques. This position is based within the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine and requires close collaboration with AI researchers to improve the LLMs’ social intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

  • Position: Research Scientist (Medical)
  • Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until July 2029
  • Salary: £44,355 to £51,735 per annum (includes London Weighting Allowance)
  • Location: King’s College London

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  1. Medical degree
  2. PhD or near completion
  3. Experience in digital health research and AI in healthcare
  4. Skills in natural language processing and digital therapeutics development
  5. Strong project management capabilities

Desirable skills include knowledge of reinforcement learning and familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks.
