New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Research Assistant at its Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science. This position aims to enhance artificial intelligence methods for preserving cultural heritage using advanced 3D computer vision and machine learning technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI pipelines focused on cultural heritage preservation
- Implement neural rendering techniques utilizing Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) and Gaussian Splatting
- Create detailed 3D models of historical artifacts and environments
- Collaborate with experts across computer science, digital humanities, and archaeology
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields
- Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience with 3D data and preferably with NeRF and photogrammetry
- Passion for interdisciplinary applications of AI
