Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, is offering an exciting part-time Assistant position at the Department of Mongolian, Korean and Vietnamese Studies, Faculty of Arts. The position begins on October 1, 2025, with an initial 3-month fixed-term contract that is extendable.
Position Details
- Working hours: 20 hours per week
- Department: Mongolian, Korean and Vietnamese Studies
- Focus area: Mongolian and Inner Asian Studies
- Responsibilities: Teaching Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, lifelong learning initiatives, language instruction, and research
Research Project Involvement
The Assistant will work on the Junior Star research project focusing on Mobile Pastoralists in Mongolia. Tasks include editing, translating, and analyzing historical sources and field recordings.
Candidate Requirements
- Master’s degree in Inner/Central Asian philology, religious studies, or related field
- At least one year of relevant experience
- Proficiency in both colloquial and classical Mongolian
- Knowledge of at least one other Inner/Central Asian language
- Mandatory English proficiency
