The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking a Director for Research Services to be based at either the Fremantle or Sydney (Broadway) campus. This is a full-time, 5-year fixed-term contract offering a competitive salary plus 14.25% superannuation. Notre Dame is a private Catholic university with over 1,000 permanent staff and more than 12,000 students across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed Director will lead the Research Services team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and high performance in research support. The role encompasses:
- Managing services related to research grants, contracts, and ethics applications
- Overseeing Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates and ongoing training programs
- Providing strategic leadership and improving service quality
- Advising senior research leaders and collaborating to elevate the university’s research profile
Candidate Requirements

- Possess a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
- Demonstrate proven leadership capabilities within a research environment
- Have extensive knowledge of research services, governance, and compliance
- Show expertise in change management and overseeing HDR candidature
