King’s College London’s Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology is currently seeking a Communications and Engagement Manager for a full-time maternity cover position. This fixed-term contract will run until 31 December 2026 or until the substantive post holder returns.
About the Department
The department specializes in investigating the genetic and environmental causes of diseases through twin and longitudinal studies, offering a dynamic and impactful research environment.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be an energetic and passionate science communicator, responsible for leading research communications across multiple studies. Key duties include:
- Creating and implementing multi-channel communication campaigns
- Managing public and participant engagement
- Supporting recruitment efforts
- Collaborating with community and NHS partners
- Producing and delivering press releases, newsletters, social media content, events, and videos
- Developing inclusive engagement strategies particularly aimed at underrepresented groups
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A relevant degree
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in health or science communication roles
- Knowledge of digital content creation, media relations, and participant engagement
Desirable qualifications include a master’s in science communication and experience working with external contractors.
Salary and Application Details
- Salary Range: £45,031 to £52,514 (including London Weighting)
