The Academy of Language and Culture (LAC) in Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong, is currently inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Established in July 2024, LAC is a dynamic institution consisting of three departments:
- English Language and Literature
- Humanities and Creative Writing
- Translation, Interpreting, and Intercultural Studies
The Academy is dedicated to advancing linguistic diversity, creative expression, and intercultural communication.
Position Focus
The role targets candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Cultural studies
- Visual cultural studies
- Media studies
There is a special emphasis on themes such as aesthetics, gender, health humanities, and environmental humanities. Additionally, applicants with experience in AI technology or AI-driven projects are highly encouraged to apply.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Successful candidates are expected to:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Conduct impactful research.
- Supervise theses.
Necessary qualifications and skills include:
- A PhD in related fields.
- Strong programming skills.
- Interdisciplinary research ability.
