The University of Melbourne is seeking a dedicated Indigenous Australian to lead The Mabo Centre as its Director. This full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months offers a competitive salary of $232,180 per annum plus 17% superannuation. The Director will drive Indigenous justice and socio-economic development by leading groundbreaking research and partnerships that influence national policy and community engagement.

The Mabo Centre focuses on advancing Native Title agreements and Indigenous land rights, emphasizing self-determination and socio-economic growth for First Nations landowners. The successful candidate will:

Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Doctoral degree in Law, Justice, a business-related discipline, or possess equivalent experience
- Have proven leadership in Indigenous affairs, Native Title, and justice research
- Demonstrate experience in funding acquisition and stakeholder engagement
- Be a person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent with valid Australian work rights (visa sponsorship is not available)
