The University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane has introduced a distinctive academic pathway aimed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates through its Indigenous Identified Academic Pathway. This initiative is a four-year research-focused program designed to nurture Indigenous scholars across a range of academic disciplines within various Schools, Faculties, and Research Institutes at UQ.

Program Details and Benefits

The program is divided into two streams:

  • Pre-doctoral stream: For candidates who are current PhD students.
  • Post-doctoral stream: For candidates who hold or are completing their PhDs.

Successful applicants will earn a competitive base salary starting from $80,448 up to $133,381, plus an additional 17% superannuation, aligned with Academic Levels A or B.

  • Identify as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and provide evidence of their cultural identity.
