Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand is seeking a visionary leader to fill the position of Tumuaki – Head of School at the School of Architecture. This is a three-year fixed-term role suitable for an academic leader with a PhD in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Architecture, Building Science, or Construction. The appointment could be at either the Professor or Associate Professor level, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and academic leadership aligned with the University’s goals and Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments.
- Manage school operations including staffing and budgeting.
- Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive environment for staff development and wellbeing.
- Represent the school both nationally and internationally.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
