The University of the Pacific in Stockton is currently recruiting for an exciting leadership role as the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for overseeing mental health operations across the Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco campuses.

Position Details

  • Salary Range: $130,000 to $140,000 annually
  • Reports To: Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellness
  • Responsibilities:
    • Providing strategic leadership for CAPS
    • Ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and culturally responsive mental health services
    • Supervising CAPS staff and interns
    • Delivering clinical services
    • Managing budgets
    • Coordinating crisis interventions
    • Leading outreach programs
  • Location: Duties spread across three campuses with some travel required
  • Availability: After-hours availability required

Qualifications

The University seeks highly qualified candidates with the following credentials:

  1. Required:
    • Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field
    • At least five years of supervisory experience
  2. Preferred:
    • Doctoral degree
    • California licensure
    • Experience in higher education counseling center administration
