The University of Surrey in the UK is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Researcher position in the field of multimodal language processing. This role is part of a special project funded by eBay, aiming to develop a new framework to enhance vision-language research.
Project Goals
The primary objectives of this project include:
- Improving the matching of product listings
- Enhancing product moderation processes
- Extracting product attributes more efficiently
- Predicting relevance for various applications
Additionally, the developed framework is expected to support future advancements such as chatbots with image understanding capabilities and image-based product search functionalities.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal applicant should possess:
- A Master’s degree in computer science
- Strong knowledge of visual language models
- Experience in machine learning, natural language processing, large language models, or multimodal processing
- Excellent programming skills
- Experience in scientific writing
Moreover, the candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
