King’s College London is offering an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate position within the Peter Gorer Department of Immunobiology, located at Guy’s Campus, London. This full-time role is part of the Santos Lab, a dynamic clinical translational research group dedicated to food allergy research. The position is available on a three-year fixed-term contract starting no earlier than November 1, 2025.

About the Role

The Santos Lab focuses on understanding the immune system’s mechanisms behind food allergies, with a special emphasis on oral tolerance to peanut allergens. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Neves Lab, utilizing innovative human gut organoid models and immune cell cultures to identify pathways aimed at developing definitive treatments for food allergies.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • PhD in immunology or a related field
  • Expertise in immunology techniques such as flow cytometry and cell culture
  • Strong organizational, communication, and research capabilities
  • Desirable skills include experience with spectral flow cytometry, RNAseq data analysis, and handling human blood samples

Responsibilities

The role entails:

  1. Maintaining accurate and detailed experimental records
  2. Analyzing experimental results and preparing reports
  3. Contributing positively to the research environment and culture
