Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre Limited (ABIC), coordinated by the University of Hong Kong, is seeking applications for the role of Product Development Scientist specializing in microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technologies. The position, based at the Hong Kong Science Park, aims to advance biomedical devices to address growing medical demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize microfluidic devices for high-throughput screening.
- Prototype systems and collaborate closely with R&D teams.
- Work with academic and industrial partners to translate research into commercial products.
- Prepare proposals, technical reports, patents, and deliver presentations.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines. Essential expertise includes:
- Microfluidic device design and fabrication.
- System integration and biomedical applications.
Additional experience in the following areas is highly advantageous:
- Droplet microfluidics
- Lab-on-a-chip cell analysis and cell sorting
- Organ-on-chip systems
- Cytometry and spectroscopy
