Cranfield University in Bedfordshire is offering an exciting full-time Research Fellow position in Impact Icing Science and Engineering. This opportunity is available within the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Position Details
This is a permanent role with a salary range from £37,337 to £44,906 per annum, with potential progression up to £51,298. For applicants nearing PhD completion, the salary starts between £28,929 and £33,825, progressing to £39,586.
Role Description
The successful candidate will join the Centre for Propulsion Engineering and be involved in:
- Conducting innovative research on ice adhesion, ice properties, protection technologies.
- Studying the effects of ice on aerodynamic components.
- Performing experimental work using specialized icing wind tunnel facilities.
- Supporting data analysis and management.
- Collaborating with both national and international partners in aerospace and wind turbine sectors.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified applicants should:
- Hold a PhD or be close to completing one in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
- Have a proven publication record.
- Possess skills in engineering experiment testing and data measurement, with icing experiment experience preferred.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in research.
Additional Information
This role is based at the Cranfield Campus and requires UK Security Clearance (BPSS). The successful candidate is expected to begin work by November 2025. Applications must be submitted by 3rd September 2025.
