The University of Sydney is inviting applications for an exciting full-time position as a Professional Officer, Cultural Heritage. This role is part of their Core Research Facilities team and is offered on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.
Position Details
- Role: Professional Officer, Cultural Heritage
- Duration: 12 months (full-time, fixed-term)
- Salary: Starting at $99,455 plus 17% superannuation
- Location: Sydney Analytical, University of Sydney
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will oversee the Cultural Heritage node, specifically working with vibrational spectroscopy and X-ray instruments.
- Manage and supervise portable instruments including vibrational spectroscopy and XRF techniques.
- Ensure proper maintenance and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide expert knowledge in spectroscopic equipment operation.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with cultural heritage stakeholders and researchers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in operating advanced spectroscopic equipment.
- Strong skills in data analysis related to vibrational spectroscopy and XRF.
- Understanding of cultural sensitivities related to museum and heritage items.
- Unrestricted Australian work rights (visa sponsorship is not available).
